Immortalize Your Mouth with RGNAGTRZ
Our Process
Each unique piece takes several weeks to fabricate. We begin by taking a dental-grade impression of your mouth and collaborating to finalize a design. From that impression, we cast a positive in dental stone. The wax formed over the stone cast then undergoes the lost-wax investment process. We outsource this labor to a small, family-run casting foundry in Johnston, RI. Finally, we meet for the final fitting—where meticulous, necessary adjustments bring a sense of magic as the piece fits perfectly into place.
Centering familial histories and cultural motifs imbues the grillz form with a profound cultural weight, allowing personal sentiments to be worn and held within the mouth. Fitting metal to the mouth is an ancient language; each piece we craft serves as a vessel of cultural inheritance and reclamation.

Meet Your Maker
Regina Gutierrez is a New York-native RISD Sculpture graduate and Filipino grillz-maker with a studio practice based in the heart of Olneyville, Rhode Island.
Through their practice, Immortalizing Your Mouth, Regina synthesizes personal histories and cultural motifs while honoring the deep lineage of grillz-making as a weighted form of Black American culture. Their work serves as a meditation on the smiles that line a lineage.
What began in 2021 as a fixation on physical form—performing intimacy by casting the mouths of loved ones and strangers—evolved into a profound cultural synthesis. This journey led to their research on pre-colonial volcanic golds and bodily adornment in the Philippines, while simultaneously conducting collaborative research at RISD on grillz as an enduring expression of Black identity, status, and pride.
Deeply informed by the fine-tuned lens of dentistry and hands-on experience shadowing an oral surgeon, Regina brings an intuitive precision to a deeply sacred, traditional art form. Blending pre-colonial reverence with clinical accuracy and the cultural weight of this form, they work directly with each client to immortalize their mouth and honor their story.
